I am writing you to inform you of the required immunizations for seventh grade. Our seventh graders are required to have a Tdap, a meningococcal immunization, and two varicella (chicken pox) immunizations before entering into seventh grade. These vaccines are usually given at the age eleven, or twelve year wellness visit with your child’s doctor’s office. I am sending out this letter now to let you know about these requirements in hopes of a smooth transition to your child’s next grade level. All updated immunization records will need to be completed by the start of the seventh grade year (preferably before the end of the sixth grade school year), and the record sent, or brought to the CMS office. Students are not allowed to receive their schedule during open house until the updated records have been received. If you have not done so already, please schedule your child’s next wellness visit, so that these vaccines can be given, and you can get documentation over to us before the next school year. Again, we will have to receive a copy of your child’s updated vaccination record in order for your child to receive a schedule, and began the 2019-2020 school year. Thank you so much for your help in having your child’s immunizations up to date. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 830-995-6420/ x303.
